A primeira edição do Rock in Rio aconteceu em 1985 e, desde então, tem sido um fenômeno cultural no Brasil. Projetado para devolver a alegria e confiança para o povo brasileiro, no final de um rígido regime militar, o evento quebrou recordes de público em festivais de música, com 1,38 milhões de participantes - cinco vezes mais que Woodstock. A edição de 2013 no Rio esgotaram todos os 600 mil ingressos em apenas quatro horas.

"Em maio de 2015, o lendário festival de música mundial vai tocar no coração de Las Vegas, a criação de uma experiência mágica para os fãs de música, marcas e da comunidade local. Após 30 anos entretendo o público ao redor do mundo, é o momento certo para levar a experiência do Rock in Rio para os Estados Unidos, o maior palco do mundo." - diz Medina.

A SFX Entertainment, fundado por Robert FX Sillerman, é a maior produtora mundial de eventos ao vivo e conteúdo de entretenimento focado principalmente na cultura da música eletrônica e produz festivais internacionais populares, como o EDM Electric Zoo e a Tomorrowland.

A próxima edição do evento acontece do dia 25 a 31 de maio de 2014 em Lisboa, Portugal. Dentre as grandes atrações estão Rolling Stones, Linkin Park e Lorde. Na tenda eletrônica foram confirmados Steve Aoki, Tiga, Dusky, Octa Push, dentre outros.

NEWS: Skrillex lança app para divulgar seu novo álbum "Recess"

No início da semana passada, Skrillex anunciou uma turnê nos Estados Unidos para corresponder com um aplicativo lançado pelo produtor, intitulado "Alien Ride". O aplicativo contém uma pasta com 11 objetos ocultos, que o produtor Los Angeles EDM revelou compor seu álbum de estreia Recess. Os fãs que instalaram o aplicativo começaram a ver as músicas desbloquearem às 06h30 do dia 10 de março e, a cada 30 minutos, uma música nova era revelada.

Em Recess, Skrillex responde a seus críticos diretamente sobre a abertura de faixa "All is Fair in Love and Brostep". "É a mais foda, a mais top das tops, a canção brostep mais narcótica de todas", diz o produtor. "Eu quero que as pessoas ouçam a minha música para se sentirem como estivessem em todas as essas drogas, mas sem fazer uso de nenhum tipo de droga", diz Skrillex.

"A dance music é para se divertir", diz ele. "Não tem nada a ver com levantar uma sombrancelha e se levar tão a sério. As pessoas que estereotipam gêneros dizem: 'Se você está nessa, você é esse tipo de pessoa ' - É quase racista... Você é um artista - assim como você pode dar algo de bom".
